Mack Robertson is a versatile guitarist who has been musically involved in his hometown, Portland, OR, for a number of years. His interests span numerous styles of music, including rock, pop, jazz, funk, and classical.

While attending Sunset High School, he participated in Jazz Lab and Funk Band, and provided musical direction for the 2007 production of Much Ado About Nothing. In addition, he led (and performed in) Apollos Unplugged, a series of music events that provided opportunities for Sunset High students to showcase their musical talents.

At the collegiate level, Mack has studied classical guitar under Jeff Cogan at Chapman University's Hall-Musco Conservatory of Music, as well as jazz guitar under Dan Gildea at Portland State University. At PSU, he also had the privilege of studying jazz improvisation with pianist, Darrell Grant, and participating in combos led by pianist, George Colligan

While living in California, Mack was a member of the Orange County Guitar Circle and participated in affiliated performances. When he relocated back to Portland in 2011, he also led a rock trio (as lead guitarist and composer) and opened for Yeasayer at the Willamette Valley Music Festival in Eugene, OR.  In addition, Mack has designed and taught music theory courses for the Portland Youth Philharmonic.

He currently performs with the Shadow Government Music Academy (led by Dan Duval). When he's not practicing or performing, Mack teaches guitar, ukulele, and composition at Five Star Guitars in Hillsboro, OR and teaches private guitar lessons in the Portland area.
